Dr. Monica Agostino has a Ph.D in Psychology and is a Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor.

She works with adults, young children and their families, and with pregnant couples.

She brings a unique perspective, originating from the combination of techniques from her extensive studies in infant and perinatal mental health, psychodynamic psychotherapy, bioenergetic analysis and somatic therapy.

She has coordinated and supervised a prevention program for early years and their families for 18 years in Miami for The Child Psychiatric Center/ Institute for Child and Family Health.

She has also been a presenter at the Infant Mental Health Training for therapists (2005-2015) on attachment theory, child-parent psychotherapy, trauma in the early years, and transference and countertransference.

She also offers workshops and trainings for therapists and nurses working with infants and their families.

She has been training in Bioenergetic Analysis since the late 1980’s with Dr Leonard Hochman and continues to this day to deepen her understanding with Heiner Steckel, Myrian De Campos, Guy Tonella (International Bioenergetic Trainers, IIBA).

She also has training in Eva Reich’s Butterfly Baby Massage and in early prevention.

She practices with presence, understanding, offering relational holding. The therapeutic relationship provides the context for the therapeutic process to unfold. In her experience, establishing a safe, respectful, supportive foundation based on clear boundaries in a relational, co-creational relationship, builds trust for the therapeutic work to take place.

She provides online therapy sessions, and occasionally if needed face to face sessions as well. She is fully bilingual and offers therapy in English and Spanish.
